Guilford Interfaith Volunteers (GIV) is very grateful to the Town of Guilford for selecting GIV as a recipient of the town’s ARPA funds which directed $1 million to COVID-19 impacted non-profits and also to the Guilford Foundation for their hard work in streamlining the process.

ARPA funds were used to enclose our breezeway which is the reception area for Charlie’s Closet clients, creating a much more pleasant environment for both volunteers and clients. Thanks to the Town of Guilford and the Guilford Foundation for making this happen. Top half shows the open breezeway with the lattice work.   Pictured below are First Selectman Matt Hoey, Guilford Foundation Director Liza Petra and GIV staff and volunteers in front of the newly enclosed structure.

Two other of our programs received funds:

  • Meals on Wheels – to offset increase costs in meal preparation and replace aging equipment

  • Food Bank Support – to replace the decrease in food & monetary donations, coupled with increased need
