Chloe’s Closet is a new community-based initiative of the Guilford Interfaith Volunteers (GIV), in partnership with the Negron Family, to provide used durable medical equipment to children across Connecticut. This division was established to honor Chloe, the daughter of Rennie and David Negron, who tragically passed away in 2025 from Tay-Sachs disease, a rare genetic disorder. During Chloe's life, the Negron family experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find - and afford - the specialized medical equipment children often require. They also saw how quickly families can become overwhelmed when navigating the emotional, logistical, and financial challenges that come with serious pediatric illness.
By making essential equipment more accessible, we hope to support families with dignity, compassion, and practical help - exactly when they need it most.
We depend on families and organizations that donate used equipment in excellent condition to maintain an inventory that serves children with diverse needs. There is a release fee of $1.00 per item, any monetary donation is also welcome. All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
