Friendly Visiting
We pair each participant with a volunteer based on interests, availability, and comfort level. Once matched, the volunteer visits weekly for relaxed, friendly conversation and time together. These consistent visits create a dependable connection that brings warmth, companionship, and a brighter moment in the week for those they visit.
How It Works
Trained and caring volunteers visit any homebound or isolated Guilford resident once a week for a year or longer. There is no fee and the scheduling of visits is flexible. Visits can be structured, centered on a specific activity, or can be as casual as having a cup of tea or taking a walk. Many of our matches become lifetime friendships that benefit all involved. Presently there are thirty-three Friendly Visiting matches.
